Śrī Guru-caraṇa-padma

1.
śrī-guru-caraṇa-padma, kevala-bhakati-sadma,
bando mui sāvadhāna mate
jahāra prasāde bhāi, e bhava toriye jāi,
kṛṣṇa-prāpti hoy jāhā ha’te
Synonyms
śrī-guru-caraṇa-padma – the lotus feet of Śrī Guru; kevala-bhakati-sadma – the abode of pure devotion; bando mui – I offer my obeisances; sāvadhāna mate – with great care and attention; jahāra prasāde – by whose mercy; bhāi – O brother; e bhava toriye jāi – one can cross over this material existence; kṛṣṇa-prāpti – attainment of Kṛṣṇa; hoy jāhā ha’te – is possible from whom
Translation
The lotus feet of our spiritual master are the only shelter of pure devotion. I offer my respectful obeisances to him with great care and attention. O brother, by his mercy we can cross over this ocean of material suffering, and by his grace we can attain Kṛṣṇa.

guru-mukha-padma-vākya, cittete koriyā aikya,
āro nā koriho mane āśā
śrī-guru-caraṇe rati, ei se uttama-gati,
je prasāde pūre sarva āśā
Synonyms
guru-mukha-padma-vākya – the words from the lotus mouth of Guru; cittete koriyā aikya – make one with your heart; āro nā koriho – do not make any other; mane āśā – desires in your mind; śrī-guru-caraṇe rati – attachment to the feet of the guru; ei se uttama-gati – this is the highest goal; je prasāde – by whose mercy; pūre sarva āśā – all desires are fulfilled
Translation
Make the instructions from the lotus mouth of your guru one with your heart, and do not desire anything else in your mind. Attachment to the lotus feet of Śrī Guru is the highest perfection. By his mercy, all of one’s desires are fulfilled.
3.
cakhu-dān dilo jei, janme janme prabhu sei,
divya-jñān hṛde prokāśito
prema-bhakti jaho hoite, avidyā vināśa jate,
vede gāy jāhāra carito
Synonyms
cakhu-dān dilo jei – he who opened my eyes; janme janme prabhu sei – he is my lord birth after birth; divya-jñān – divine knowledge; hṛde prokāśito – revealed within the heart; prema-bhakti jaho hoite – from whom love of God arises; avidyā vināśa jate – ignorance is destroyed; vede gāy – the Vedas sing; jāhāra carito – about whose character
Translation
He who has opened my eyes with the torchlight of divine knowledge is my lord and master, birth after birth. From him comes prema-bhakti, pure love of God, which destroys ignorance, and whose glories are sung in the Vedas.

śrī-guru karuṇā-sindhu, adhama janāra bandhu,
lokanātha lokera jīvana
hā hā prabhu koro doyā, deho more pada-chāyā,
ebe jaṣa ghuṣuk tribhuvana
Synonyms
śrī-guru karuṇā-sindhu – Śrī Guru is an ocean of mercy; adhama janāra bandhu – friend of the fallen; lokanātha – name of Narottama’s guru (Lokanātha Gosvāmī); lokera jīvana – life of the people; hā hā prabhu – O dear master!; koro doyā – please be merciful; deho more pada-chāyā – give me the shade of your feet; ebe jaṣa ghuṣuk tribhuvana – let your glories be proclaimed in all three worlds
Translation
Śrī Guru is an ocean of mercy and the friend of the fallen souls. Lokanātha, you are the very life of the people. O master, please be merciful to me and give me the shelter of your feet. May your fame be spread throughout the three worlds!
