Śrī Tulasī Prāṇāma Mantra

vṛndāyai tulasī-devyai
priyāyai keśavasya ca
viṣṇu-bhakti-prade devi
satyavatyai namo namaḥ

Synonyms

vṛndāyai – unto Vṛndā (another name of Tulasī Devī presiding deity of Vṛndāvana); tulasī-devyai – unto the goddess Tulasī; priyāyai – who is dear; keśavasya – to Keśava (another name of Lord Krishna or Vishnu); ca – and; viṣṇu-bhakti-prade – who bestows devotion to Lord Viṣṇu; viṣṇu – to Lord Viṣṇu; bhakti – devotion; prade – who gives / grants; devi – O goddess; satyavatyai – unto Satyavatī (another name meaning “truthful one” or “daughter of truth”); namo nama – repeated obeisances (I offer my respectful obeisances again and again);

Translation

“I offer my repeated obeisances unto Śrīmatī Tulasī Devī, also known as Vṛndā and Satyavatī, who is very dear to Lord Keśava and who bestows devotion to Lord Viṣṇu.”

Śrī Tulasī Ārati

(Glorification of Śrīmatī Tulasī-devī)

1.

namo namaḥ tulasī kṛṣṇa-preyasī namo namaḥ
rādhā-kṛṣṇa-sevā pāvo ei abhilāṣī

Synonyms

namo nama – I offer repeated obeisances; tulasī – to Tulasī Devī ; kṛṣṇa-preyasī – beloved of Kṛṣṇa; rādhā-kṛṣṇa – Śrī Śrī Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa ;sevā – service; pāvo – may I get / receive; ei – this; abhilāṣī – is my desire;

Translation

I offer repeated obeisances unto you, O Tulasī, beloved of Kṛṣṇa. My desire is to obtain service to Śrī Śrī Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa


2.

je tomāra śaraṇa loy, tara vāñchā pūrṇa hoy
kṛpā kori’ koro tāre vṛndāvana-vāsī

Synonyms

je – whoever; tomāra – your; śaraṇa loy – takes shelter; tara – his/her; vāñchā – desires; pūrṇa hoy – are fulfilled; kṛpā kori’ – showing mercy; koro tāre – make him/her; vṛndāvana-vāsī – a resident of Vṛndāvana;

Translation

Whoever takes shelter of you, their desires are fulfilled. Please bless them with mercy and make them a resident of Vṛndāvana.

mora ei abhilāṣa, vilāsa kuñje dio vāsa
nayana heribo sadā yugala-rūpa-rāśi

Synonyms

mora – my; ei – this; abhilāṣa – desire; vilāsa kuñje – in the pleasure groves; dio – please give; vāsa – residence; nayana – eyes; heribo – may see; sadā – always; yugala – the divine couple; rūpa-rāśi – forms (rāśi = multitude or beauty);

Translation

My desire is this: please allow me to reside in the pleasure groves, where my eyes can always behold the beautiful forms of the Divine Couple.


4.

ei nivedana dharo, sakhīra anugata koro
seva-adhikāra dīyo koro nījadāsī

Synonyms

ei – this; nivedana dharo – please accept my request; sakhīra – of the gopī friends; anugata – follower; koro – make me; seva-adhikāra – the right to serve; dīyo – please give; koro – make me; nījadāsī – your personal maidservant;

Translation

Please accept this humble request: make me a follower of the gopī sakhīs and give me the qualification for service. Make me your own maidservant.


5.

dīna kṛṣṇa-dāsa koy, ei yena mora hoy
śrī-rādhā-govinda-preme sadā yena bhāsi

Synonyms

dīna – humble; kṛṣṇa-dāsa – servant of Kṛṣṇa; koy – says; ei – this; yena – may it be; mora – my; hoy – fate / reality; śrī-rādhā-govinda-preme – in the love of Śrī Rādhā and Govinda; sadā – always; yena – may I ;bhāsi – float / be immersed;

Translation

The humble servant of Kṛṣṇa prays: may this be my reality — that I always remain immersed in the love of Śrī Rādhā and Govinda.



Sri Tulasi Pradakṣiṇā Mantra

 

Yāni kāni ca pāpāni brahma-hatyādikāni ca
Tāni tāni vinaśyanti pradakṣiṇe pade pade

Synonyms

yāni kāni ca – whatever (sins) there may be; pāpāni – sins; brahma-hatyādikāni ca – including those like killing a brāhmaṇa; brahma-hatyā – killing a brāhmaṇa; ādikāni – and others like that; ca – and; tāni tāni – all of those; vinaśyanti – are destroyed; pradakṣiṇe – by circumambulation; pade pade – at every step;

Translation

Whatever sins may exist, even those as severe as killing a brāhmaṇa, are destroyed step by step by the act of circumambulating Tulasī Devī
